  • Child Garden Montessori offers unique learning opportunities for children in a nurturing, safe and stimulating environment. With a Montessori curriculum and focus on early childhood education and development, we strive to provide the best foundation for children to build upon for future success. Our school is located in the beautiful Loring Park neighborhood of Minneapolis behind the Basilica.

    Role Description

    This is a full-time position, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday. The Toddler Lead Guide prepares the Montessori Toddler classroom environment. They will care for chidren 16 to 33 months.  In addition, they will provide a safe and nurturing environment to ensure every child's well-being and engage with parents or caregivers to keep them abreast of their child's development.  The Lead Toddler Guide will lead a team of two to three assistants throughout the day. The Toddler Lead Guide is responsible for nurturing and guiding the children’s social/emotional, physical and academic development.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field preferred

    • Montessori training or experience is a plus

    • Minimum of 2 year working in a licensed Montessori Toddler child care classroom

    • Thorough understanding of child development principles and a commitment to a child-centered approach to teaching

    Responsibilities

    • Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with children, parents and caregivers

    • Patience, creativity and the ability to adapt to the changing needs of children

    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

    • Experience with child observation and assessment tools to inform and individualize learning experiences for toddlers

    • Ability to work Collaboratively as a team

    • Familiarity with state licensing requirements for early childhood education

    • Ability to remain calm in stressful situation

The Infant Assistant will assist the lead Guide in preparing the Montessori infant classroom environment. They will care for infants ages 6 weeks to 18 months.  In addition, they will provide a safe and nurturing environment to ensure every child's well-being and engage with parents or caregivers to keep them abreast of their child's development.  The Assistant Infant teacher will collaborate with a team of two to three assistants throughout the day.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or a related field preferred

    • Montessori training or experience is a plus

    • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Montessori Infant Assistant in a licensed child care center

    • Thorough understanding of child development principles and a commitment to a child-centered approach to teaching

    • Calm with crying infants and comfortable soothing fussy infants
